Webinar: Repositioning Your Professional Value for an AI Era

September 1 @ 12:30 pm 1:30 pm AEST

AI is changing how expertise is recognised, valued and communicated. For experienced leaders, the challenge is not simply learning new tools, but understanding what these shifts mean for their value, direction and future opportunities. For returning expats, this sits alongside the challenge of re-establishing themselves in a market that may have changed significantly while they were away.

In this session, we welcome Sue Cunningham, Founder of The Uncertainty Lab, a human-led, AI-enabled advisory practice she has built over the past eighteen months. Sue has spent twenty-five years in executive strategy and transformation roles in organisations from $50 million to $ 3 billion across health, emergency management, aged care and international development. She will take us through her four-part Reorientation framework for assessing how value is migrating within your field, identifying your distinctive human value, building your AI position and defining the value you want to create in this new era.

Sue’s perspective is grounded in lived experience. She has navigated this transition herself, repositioning from an executive leader focused on uncertainty and change to the founder of her own AI-enabled practice, using the same four-part framework she will share in this session.

Together, we will explore how experienced professionals can respond to this period of change with greater clarity and purpose—not by disregarding the careers they have already built, but by understanding how their expertise can evolve, remain relevant and make a meaningful contribution in a new era.

Key discussion points:

  • How AI is Changing Professional Value: Understanding the shift from a traditional knowledge economy, where value sat in production and output, to an emerging intelligence economy where leadership judgement is valued more highly.
  • Where Your Value Sits Now: Sue’s four-part framework for reorienting your professional value as AI reshapes the way we work: assessing how value in your field is migrating, identifying your distinctive human value, building your AI position, and defining your future value.
  • Expressing Your Position with Credibility: How to strengthen your credibility by explaining, specifically, how you use AI and the decisions you’ve made with it – based on your own first-hand experience.
  • Applying This to Your Return: What this repositioning means for expats re-entering the Australian market, and how to frame international experience alongside a credible, current position on AI.

You’ll walk away with:

  • Access to Sue’s Reorientation Scan, a short self-assessment tool to help you identify where your own value sits now, and where you may need more clarity before deciding what to pursue, change or make visible.
  • A practical four-part framework to reassess and articulate the value of your experience as AI reshapes your field. You’ll leave knowing which of the four questions you can already answer – and which you cant.
  • Clarity and language to talk credibly about how you work with AI – what a credible position actually requires, and where you may need more direct experience before you can claim one with confidence.
  • A sharper sense of direction for positioning your global experience and future value as you re-establish your career in Australia.
